The MSR Gen4 features one fixed tube (which we call the "base tube") and one extending tube. When contracted, it measures 12.2 inches from its rear Plug to the bipod attachment point. When extended, the same points measure out to 22 inches. 

It also features a single quick-detach mounting post with 2.75 inches of purchase.

This new MSR Gen4 takes the same extended-fulcrum concept that made earlier BipodeXt generations so effective and adds the Gen4 upgrade: the new A&P (ARCA & Picatinny) Combo Mounting Post, standard on every Gen4 BipodeXt.

The Archimedes Advantage, Refined

At the heart of BipodeXt is a simple lever principle: by moving the support point farther forward toward the muzzle, we dramatically reduce how much your small movements at the rear of the rifle are transmitted to the muzzle and to the target.
